In 1963, Arnold Müller started with the production of built-in and special-purpose motors using entrepreneurial ambition, innovative ideas and a proper amount of courage. For this purpose, his special interest concentrated on specific problem solutions which had not been known to the market until then. From the beginning, Arnold Müller was ready to walk new paths. He succeeded in anticipating the development of technology and the market and, together with his employees, to develop trendsetting products. In the process, he had to put critics right more than once. And the success proved him right, and continues to do so. After all, AMK was the company that presented the world's first continuously variable speed three-phase motor in 1967.

As early as 1983, AMK brought the digital three-phase drive technology to series production – a technology that became a world standard. This endeavor earned AMK the innovation prize from the state of Baden-Württemberg. In 1992, the Swabian pioneers succeeded in integrating the PLC in the drive – long before this technology became customary in the market, and today AMK offers possibly the most compact intelligent servo drives on the market. Step by step, AMK managed to establish an outstanding position in numerous markets which, to a special degree, lives off proven competency, know-how and experience.
